Mads Tolling
Mads Tolling is a two-time Grammy Award-Winning Violinist and Composer. He is a current member of Bob Weir’s Wolf Bros/Pack Band and formerly with bassist Stanley Clarke and Turtle Island Quartet.
John R. Burr, B3 and Piano
After years of touring with such artists as Maria Muldaur, The Alison Brown Quartet, Paul McCandless, Michael Manring and Kathy Kallick and recognition including a feature spot on Windham Hill’s Piano Sampler II, Burr is stepping out with his first solo album, Piedmont Avenue. His playing is as likely to be inspired by James Taylor or Doctor John as by Oscar Peterson or the Yellowjackets although he says it is his love of folk music that has influenced him most. His musical diversity has enabled him to tour and record with a variety of artists.
Kevin Goldberg, bass
Kevin has studied and performed with such luminaries as Tammy L. Hall, Denise Perrier, Linda Tillery, Tiffany Austin, Destiny Muhammad, Mia Pixley, Kenny Washington, Bruce Forman, Michael Zilber, and many others, and shared stages with the likes of Thomas Mapfumo, José James, Tank & the Bangas, and Bridge City Sinners.
Special guest vocalist Thu Ho
Thu has performed at various Bay Area and southern California venues, including NAMM at the Anaheim Convention Center, the House of Blues San Diego, the Golden Gate Park Bandshell, Humphreys Backstage Live, the historic Sir Francis Drake Hotel, the Palace Hotel San Francisco, Black Cat, Geoffrey's Inner Circle, and the 35,000-square-foot SFJAZZ Center, the first stand-alone structure in the country built specifically for jazz performance. Thu has worked with ensembles led by the great Victor Wooten and the Wooten Brothers, internationally acclaimed saxophonist & composer Joe Lovano, legendary drummer Akira Tana, acclaimed vibraphonist Yancie Taylor, Rolling Stones journalist Ben-Fong Torres, master horn player Noel Jewkes, and San Francisco’s premiere modern jazz ensemble - Jazz Mafia. She was the featured vocalist for SFJAZZ Monday Night Band and performed in the grand SFJAZZ Miner Auditorium from 2017-2020. Currently, Thu has a residency at the Palace Hotel in San Francisco and Geoffrey’s Inner Circle in Oakland, California.
