Eric Clapton taught a young Will Johns the opening chords of “Crossroads,” and in September 2026 Johns took the stage at Clapton’s Crossroads Guitar Festival in Austin, joined by Joe Bonamassa on “Sitting on Top of the World.” Born in London, he is the son of producer Andy Johns and the nephew of engineer Glyn Johns and Pattie Boyd. He has played alongside Ronnie Wood, Jack Bruce, Bill Wyman and Joe Strummer. Johns toured The Music of Cream with Kofi Baker and Malcolm Bruce, sons of Ginger Baker and Jack Bruce, and now fronts The Cream of Clapton Band with Clapton drummer Steve Ferrone. Two intimate sets only. Grab your seats early.
